Looking after winter skin.

TGIF! I can’t believe it is the last Friday of July already, this means August is arriving with its windy but warmer weather. I really love winter and the cooler months but my skin doesn’t.

Trying to keep my sensitive skin in optimal condition during winter is always a challenge, what works for me is getting into a habit of utilising the below tips.

In winter I put on a warm steam humidifier. By doing this at night it helps to alleviate dry skin, dry eyes and improves general moisture in the room (especially if you have an air con like us). It also is handy when you have flu symptoms.

I shutterstock_609113255adore a detox bath which I have every Sunday. I pop 2 tablespoons of Epsom salts and a few drops of lavender oil into my bath. The oil locks moisture into my skin and the Epsom salts help alleviate sore muscles and makes me feel refreshed and ready for the week ahead. Once out I immediately put body lotion on. I have been using Nivea Q10 firming lotion for the past 10 years. I use the dry skin one in winter.

I recently started taking Imedeen Derma One, which helps decrease the first signs of aging and provides the optimum nutrients for skin. As I am nearing my 28th birthday I think it is a good time to start taking a supplement for aging in addition to my topical treatment.

Have a beautiful weekend honeys. I will be relaxing at home with the sniffles.
