I have a spring in my step this week as I have decided to embark on my journey to qualify as a Nutrition Advisor. Nutrition and health has always been a passion of mine and being able to learn more about it is such a treat!
To kick of my nutrition path I decided to share some information about food which is dense in nutrience. Nutrient dense food provides you with important vitamins and minerals that some food may lack. Below is a list of the ones that I love and how I love to eat them!
Every morning I sprinkle these over my oats or all bran flakes.
Potatoes (Shock a white carb!)
Potatoes are full of vitamins and minerals, keep you full and if cooked without butter or oil are low in fat. I love mine baked, with a side of sautéed veggies and hummus. Perfect in winter!
Packed with vitamin A and K, I swap normal iceberg lettuce for spinach in my salads.
I like to buy them raw and roast them myself for an afternoon snack. If you crave something sweet roast them with a bit of honey.
Includes choline, dietary fibre, omega-3 fatty acids, manganese, phosphorus, and biotin just to name a few! I roast the florets with cayenne pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.
Get eating lovelies! The more I learn the more I am reminded about how important it’s to fuel your body, food may be low in calories but lack nutrients – don’t fall into the calorie counting trap!
